Frequently Asked Questions
Our skilled licensed therapists and associates offer individual therapy for adults, couples, and teens, using approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, trauma-informed care, and person-centered therapy. If you’re not sure which approach is right for you, we can decide together during your first session.
You can book an appointment by texting or calling (747) 296-1883 with your full name and phone number or by emailing info@sagementalhealthcenter.com. We typically respond within business 24 hours.
Yes, we offer both. You can choose to meet in person at our office in Encino, or we can connect via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you’d like to work on. It’s also a time for you to ask questions and see if the therapist is the right fit for you.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Most clients start with weekly sessions, but we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and preferences.
Our fees can be discussed by phone during a free 10-15 minute consultation. We accept some insurance and we will be happy to further discuss it by phone. If we don’t accept your plan, we can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to the full or partial session fee.
Yes. Your privacy is very important. Everything we discuss in therapy is confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as concerns of harm to yourself or others). We’ll review these in detail during our first session.
No, we are not licensed to prescribe medication. However, we can collaborate with your primary care provider or psychiatrist if you need medication as part of your treatment.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, depressed, or just need someone to talk to, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. If you’re unsure, feel free to reach out for a free 10–15 minute phone consultation.
